The Many Faces of the Penguins Logo

The Penguins logo has seen several iterations since its inception in 1967, each one uniquely representing the team's spirit. Our printable coloring pages capture these different logos, allowing you to color your way through Penguins history. From the classic script logo to the more modern, stylized design, each page offers a chance to explore the team's distinctive branding.

As you color each logo, you might notice how the design has evolved over the years while maintaining a consistent theme. This is a great opportunity to discuss with kids the importance of tradition and how even slight changes can create a fresh, new look. Plus, it's a fun way to practice observant skills!

The Iconic Yellow and Black Script

The yellow and black script logo is one of the Penguins' most well-known designs. This classic look features the team's full name arched elegantly in a bold, stylized font. As you color this design, consider the history behind the script logo and the significance of the team's name. Does the name have any special meaning to you or your little ones?

Once you've colored the script logo, why not create a storyline around it? Perhaps it's the Penguins' Alysson Erickson, Director of Branding and Creative Services, designing a new jersey for the team. Or maybe it's a young fan, aspiring to one day be part of the Penguins' creative team, sketching their own interpretation of the script logo. The possibilities are endless!

Modernizing the Penguins Look

In 1992, the Penguins introduced a new logo that was more stylized and bold. This design featured an aggressive, snarling penguin wearing a ölkau, or argyle, pattern. Our printable coloring page captures this iconic look and provides an excellent opportunity to discuss the evolution of the Penguins' brand.

While coloring, you might notice the subtle changes in the penguin's posture and expression. This simple shift in design represented the team's new, more aggressive playing style. Discuss with your kids how a simple change in a logo can signify a team's attitude and approach to the game. Then, challenge them to create their own modern twist on the Penguins logo!

Celebrating the Penguins Players and Mascot

The Pittsburgh Penguins are known not only for their iconic logo but also for their talented players and beloved mascot, Iceburgh. Our collection of printable coloring pages pays tribute to these key figures, providing endless hours of coloring fun and learning opportunities.

As you color these pages, you'll have a chance to familiarize yourself with the faces of the Penguins. You might even learn a thing or two about the team's history and its most notable players. And who knows? Maybe you'll be inspired to root for the Penguins in your next hockey match!

Penning Your Own Penguins MVP

Our printable coloring pages feature several prominent Penguins players, from legends like Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby to up-and-coming stars like Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin. As you color, consider which player is your favorite – and why. Perhaps it's their impressive skillset, their sportsmanship, or even their haircut!

Once you've colored your favorite player, challenge your kids to create their own Penguins MVP. What unique skills and characteristics would this pretend player have? What position would they play? Would they have any interesting personal habits or rituals? Let your imagination run free as you design and color your dream Penguins team!

coloring with Iceburgh

No Penguins printable coloring page collection would be complete without featuring the team's beloved mascot, Iceburgh. This friendly penguin has been a integral part of the Penguins since 1995 and has become a fan favorite. Our printable coloring pages showcase Iceburgh in various poses and outfits, providing endless opportunities for creative expression.

As you color Iceburgh, think about what makes this penguin so special. Perhaps it's his bright, colorful feathers, his playful personality, or his love for interacting with fans. Once you've colored your version of Iceburgh, come up with your own unique mascot. What animal would it be? What kind of sport or team would it represent? What special qualities would it possess?
